There are two ways to make glass in Blender: using the Cycles render engine, or using the new Eevee render engine.

Cycles:

  1. Add a cube to your scene.

  2. In the Properties window, under the Materials tab, click on the New button.

  3. Choose the Glass BSDF from the list of available materials.

  4. In the Cycles Settings tab, under the Surface panel, increase the Roughness value to 1.0.

  5. Render your scene.

Eevee:

  1. Add a cube to your scene.

  2. In the Properties window, under the Materials tab, click on the New button.

  3. Choose the Glass BSDF from the list of available materials.

  4. In the Eevee Settings tab, under the Transparency panel, increase the Roughness value to 1.0.

  5. Render your scene.

Q: How do you make material look like glass in blender?

A: There are a few ways to make materials look like glass in Blender. One way is to use the Translucent BSDF shader, which is located in the Cycles render engine. Another way is to use the Glass BSDF shader, which is located in the Blender Internal render engine.

Q: How do you Render transparent glass in blender?

A: There are a few ways to do this, but the most straightforward way is to use the Transparent BSDF shader in the Cycles render engine. To do this, simply add a new material to your object, and select the Transparent BSDF shader from the drop-down menu. Then, in the properties panel for your material, you can adjust the "IOR" (index of refraction) value to control how transparent your glass is. A value of 1.0 will be completely opaque, while a value of 1.5 will be quite transparent.

If you're using the Blender Internal render engine, you can achieve a similar effect by using the Glass shader.

Q: How do you make glass in a blender in 2.8 Eevee?

A: 1. Select the object you want to use as your glass.

  1. In the Material Properties editor, create a new material and name it something like "Glass."

  2. Set the material to Transparent.

  3. In the Settings tab, set the Transmission to 1.0.

  4. In the Render tab, set the Alpha to 0.5.

  5. Set the Roughness to 0.0.

  6. Set the IOR to 1.5.

  7. In the World Properties editor, create a new world and name it something like "Glass World."

  8. In the Settings tab, set the Background Color to black.

  9. In the World tab, set the Surface Color to white.

  10. In the Render tab, set the Alpha to 0.5.

  11. In the Output tab, set the File Format to PNG.

  12. In the Animation tab, set the Frame Rate to 60.

  13. In the Output tab, set the Output Path to where you want your glass render to be saved.

  14. Click the Render button and your glass will be rendered!
