Hey there Blenderheads!
The Blender Foundation and online developer community are proud to present Blender 2.72!
Release highlights
Cycles: CPU/GPU Feature Split
The Cycles render engine now has a feature split between CPU and GPU rendering, meaning that you can now use your CPU or GPU (or both) to render with Cycles. This should give you a significant speed boost when rendering on GPUs.
Improved Grease Pencil
The Grease Pencil tool has been significantly improved in Blender 2.72. You can now draw straight lines, create Bezier curves, and use the new sketching constraints to quickly create accurate drawings.
New Add-ons
There are two new add-ons included in Blender 2.72. The first is the Import-Export: Wavefront .obj Add-on, which allows you to import and export .obj files. The second is the Render: Cycles Bake Add-on, which enables you to bake your Cycles renders to an image.
And much more!
For a full list of changes, please see the release notes.
As always, a huge thanks to everyone who contributed to this release!
Happy blenderin'!
