Blender subdivide one axis

In order to subdivide one axis in Blender, first select the object you wish to subdivide. In the Tools panel, under the Edit tab, select the Subdivide tool. In the Tool Settings panel, select the number of subdivisions you want from the Subdivisions drop-down menu. Finally, click on the axis you want to subdivide and press the Subdivide button.
