If you're new to Blender, you might be wondering how to inset edges. In this quick tip, I'll show you a couple of different ways to do it.

The first way is to select the edge(s) you want to inset, and then press Ctrl+E > Inset. This will inset the selected edge(s) by a certain amount. You can change the amount by clicking on the number next to "Inset:" in the Operator panel (press N to open it).

The second way to inset edges is to use the Knife tool (press K). First, make sure that you have the "Cut Through" option enabled in the Operator panel. Then, click on the edge(s) you want to inset and drag the mouse to create new vertices. When you're done, press Enter to confirm, or Esc to cancel.

Both of these methods can be used to inset faces as well. Just select the face(s) you want to inset and then follow the steps above.

I hope this quick tip was helpful. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments.

Q: How do you inset faces individually in Blender?

A: There are a couple of ways to do this. You can either:

  • Select the face you want to inset and press I.

  • Select the face you want to inset, press E to extrude it, and then press S to scale it in.

Q: How do you inset a circle in Blender?

A: In order to inset a circle in Blender, you need to first select the circle you would like to inset. To do this, go into Edit Mode (press Tab) and then select the vertices of the circle you want to inset. Once the vertices are selected, press E to extrude them. Now, press S to scale the extruded vertices down and then press Enter to confirm. Finally, press F to fill in the faces of the circle.

Q: How do you use inset faces?

A: There are a few different ways to use inset faces, but the most common way is to use them as a way to create a more three-dimensional look for your project. Inset faces can also be used as a way to add texture or interest to a project, or as a way to create a border around a project.
